Through my lens
Wide wings over the open land
Over much of the countryside, the Common Buzzard is the bird of prey you are most likely to see, circling slowly on broad, rounded wings. Often its thin, mewing call reaches you before you notice the bird itself.
It spends a lot of time just sitting on a fence post or a low branch, waiting for a vole to move. No two look quite alike; some are nearly white, others dark chocolate brown.
