Gliding along the ridges
The Golden Eagle is a large, dark brown eagle with a pale golden-brown nape. Its wings can span more than two metres.
It lives in mountains and wide, open uplands, where it can soar along a ridge for a long time with hardly a wingbeat, before folding its wings and dropping towards a hare or grouse.
