Through my lens
A small song falling from the sky
The Meadow Pipit is streaked olive and brown, the colour of dry grass, and is easy to overlook while it walks among the tussocks.
In spring it climbs into the air singing, then floats back down with wings raised and tail spread, still singing until it lands. You find it wherever the land is open: meadows, dunes, heath and salt marsh.
