Big nests on high places
The White Stork is white with black flight feathers and a long red bill and legs. It builds huge nests of sticks on chimneys, poles and specially placed platforms, often using the same nest year after year.
When it migrates it rides rising warm air rather than flapping, which is why storks take the long way round the Mediterranean. Back on the nest, partners greet each other by throwing their heads back and clattering their bills.
